Dmoz Submission

I know this has been discussed time and time again, but....

I know this has been discussed time and time again, but I need your advice.

It's been over half a year since I submitted my site to Dmoz - Nothing dodgy about the site, unique content, loads of backlinks etc but I still haven't been included. I'm submitting to the www.dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Peripherals/Printers/Supplies/Inkjet/ category if this makes a difference to your response.

I've only submitted once and really want to know if there is anything at all I can do hurry up the process; I'm being patient but over half a year is quite a while to wait for any kind of response as this is obviously quite an important resource for my business. Is contacting the Dmoz editors directly frowned upon?

Like I say, any help you could give would be very much appreciated as I've got most the search engines nailed and it's just this directory I'm waiting for. What would you do in my position?!

Many thanks for your help

I'm listed in dmoz. It's not a well performing link. It's good for PR, that's about it. There's probably nothing that you can do to speed up the process. I wouldn't spend too much time on it.

I edit some cats and have yet to get a reply to some requests from those above me posted 3 months ago!

No problem. Everyone who submits has to realise all ed's are doing it in their free time and sometimes their free time is nil.

And yes I admit I have a one month backlog and my freetime is nil as well at the moment!

I would aslo suggest you go up the tree to the first active ed you find. This should speed your inclusion, or rejection up.

Good Luck!

The only benefit of a DMOZ lsiting comes from the fact that Google and many other search engines have bought into DMOZ and use it as their directory source.

BTW, don't hold your breathe on that listing for another month or so. They're doing some pretty big hardware upgrades.

>>Computers/Hardware/Peripherals/Printers/Supplies/Inkjet/<<

Absolutely a spam magnet, right up there with toner cartridges. I bet your category is completely swamped with junky unreviewed submissions.
