Open Directory search updated today after what seemed like ages, so people can easily see new listings. Hopefully a good sign that some of the server problems are behind them.

Cool - so I can search and see that sites still haven't been included - I knew that already! ;)

But seriously - that's good news, thanks for the tip.

Not sure. I could find a site using the advanced search, which was removed at least 2 weeks ago (according to the footer last update of page was June 5).

Don't think so...

I just tried a search and...

"Search database last updated on: Fri Apr 25 21:27:00 PDT 2003"

For me it says :

"Search database last updated on: Mon Jun 23 16:27:46 EDT 2003"

Our updated listing from several weeks ago is there now.

dmoz are presumably running load balancing and haven't yet updated all of the servers?

I see the same as Cornwall.

Have to wait for the dmoz dance!

Ditto.

A site accepted few days ago, shows in the directory but doesn not appear in any search ( searching for the URL too..).

Does there need to be a _new_ thread every time the search is updated? I think there an old one which could have been bumped up.

Look in [rdf.dmoz.org...] and you'll see no new RDF has been produced since 2003-06-15.

It is possible that an RDF did finish, but has errors; or the RDF was in process but had to be interrupted for some reason. The ODP search server sometimes sees the RDF ending and updates the search database date even though no new results were actually added to the search. It is probably a glitch. Look again in a couple of weeks after the next big phase of ODP upgrades is over.
