Forum Moderators: open
I tried to resign as editor because I want apply for a different category. However, after I had resigned and applied again, I received an email that I'd been reinstated (as editor of my old category). Why is this? It seemed that my new application had not gone through at all...
When resigning, should I have ticked the boxes that say
remove bookmarks..
remove **category here**
as well?
It may be a stupid question, but it is unclear to me whether I am removing the actual category or just removing myself as editor of the category.
If you would like to change categories; first, make sure that your edits are according to standards in your current category, and that you have gained the experience that would work toward ensuring that you'll be accepted to the other category that you'd like - then apply for the new permissions to edit the one that you'd like.
If accepted, you may then resign your current category. If not, the meta who turns your request down should have given you some ideas as to why; so work on correcting any problems that might exist, and reapply.
I hope this helps.
Rather than taking what is essentially an internal editor problem here, to an outside forum, it's best to simply contact a meta. Most of us are approachable.
