I'm looking for more directory sites to submit my site too and am getting fed up searching only to find sites that charge for submission :) I know of DMOZ, Yahoo, and GoGuides who am I missing, both big or small I'm searching for those links.

JoeAnt is free if you sign up as an editor (takes about 60 seconds).

Getting a link on About.com seems rather complex. They certainly don't make it easy.

Hi Lisa, I'll agree with you there. Find the most appropriate topic site and submit via a friendly email to that site's guide.

Just a question. I hadn'y heard of joeant.com before. I looked at the site and the pages that hold my catagory where I would list my site only have page ranks of 1 or 2.
Is there any reason to still try to list there, when the PR value won't even show up in a google link search?

Won't show up does not mean that it is worthless. A $1 bill is worth much less that a $100 bill, but if given one for 60 secs worth of work I would not say NO!

Second point is that the web is a dynamic structure, people move up and down in the hierarchy. JoeAnt may (no warranties) become much more visible.

Disclaimer: I used 60 seconds for the sake of making a point, I believe that you will end up spending five or more minutes between registering and writing a description. Still a good deal IMHO.
