Try the relevant section in the Google Directory [directory.google.com] which will give you a list of Directories

Then go to a few of the sub categories of that for more

Ok. So everybody agrees this is the right place to be. That is good.
My question.
I can easily find all big internet directories like DMOZ, Yahoo etc ...
How about the smaller ones. I'm looking for smaller commercial directories. Could anybody recommend some?

You can use dmoz (or directory.google.com which may have a faster response) and browse or search.

To browse find the category you are interested in (may take a few clicks if it is specific), listed under it will very often be a "directories" subcategory. Or search for "product or service directories" (no quotes).

Let me try again. I understand that I can go to DMOZ or Yahoo or any other search engine or directory and search for general directories or field specific directories.
What I was trying to ask was do you know about any smaller general commercial directories widely recognized by webmasters (not so much by general public) but not as big and as popular as Dmoz, Yahoo?

"Let me try again."

As you were told, and as you say you understand, dmoz and Yahoo list all the directories you are interested in. That answers the question.

No, I think the answer is I don't know. Or maybe I don't know what you are talking about. But that definitely doesn't answer the question.
