There's a rumor going around that the long-awaiting upgrade at dmoz.org is imminent and will involve several new boxes going in, starting in the next few days.

I also understand that all editors are getting a 10% pay rise, which is good news. ;)

Not a pay rise, stock options and pension plan!

(BTW, did you know that American Airlines called its infamous protected pension fund SERP!)

It's more than rumor. The editor dashboard has a note to editors that they should take a break from editing over the weekend b/c there will be errors on the edit side while the update rolls out. And one of the main editors outlined the upgrade in a thread for us.

The search cluster is getting 2 additional boxes, so that should result in faster service for end-users. The upgrades for the editing side are a bit more complicated than all that.

<edit>Can't wait for the pay raise. 10% more than I signed up for would be ... oh, never mind.</edit>

Good news on the servers!

As an editor, I'm holding out for 100% payrise and double the hours. And more spam, of course: the place wouldn't be the same without it.

In the UK, SERPS is the name for the Government pension most of us have to pay into: State Earnings-Related Pension Scheme .

<Shame> I am involved with UK payroll management and I did not know that. </Shame>
