Site no longer in DMOZ

Why would its listing disappear?

My site was in DMOZ for about eight months. Sometime in the last month it just disappeared. Is there a time limit for being in the directory?

I've never had a site removed has the content change?

Have you checked to see if it's been moved into another category?

Nope, neither content change nor removal to another category. Just has me stumped as to why.

There are a number of reasons why your site may not be listed where it was. Category reorganization, moved to another category that an editor felt was more appropriate, moved to the unreviewed queue of another category if the editor does not have permissions to edit in that category, etc., so it is possible that your site was not deleted.

You can inquire at the Resource Zone. A link is available in the Forum Charter [webmasterworld.com]. This is the best place to get an answer. All we can do is guess. :)

Any editor with editing privileges in that category can edit or remove a site. Once accepted into ODP it does not mean a site is there for life

The content of the site may have altered (for example affiliate links added after inclusion), it may have been 404 for a while, or simply another editor may have deleted it as not having enough original content. The reasons for deletion are many and various.

However if deleted, a permenant record is left of who deleted it, and why. This is what you need to find. Follow the above suggestion to have a go at getting to the reason.
