ODP and my subweb

I tried for many months to get into ODP to no avail. There wasn't a editor for the appropriate regional cat. I tried submitting to other cats as well. I eventually submitted a subweb to a cat related to the service our company provides.

Well, the subweb got in there.

An editor I met told me that I am in there, and this is all I need, and all I can expect. But I have read enough to suspect that that isn't so. I think it would be in my best interest to see our main web in the regional cat.

I appreciate any help you can give this newbie. Would it help my PR to get the main web in ODP, and how can I accomplish this?

You should check it for yourself. The ODP search facility is (usually) too dated to work, but if you wend your way to the correct category, you should find it there (unless it's been added in the last day)

No, he was referring to the subweb. I have checked... the main web is not in the ODP.

Normally sites can get one topical and one regional listing (if you have a region). Without details on the relationship of the subweb to the main web there would be no way of knowing if you can or should try to get a second listing for the main web. In general, if the main web is about "widgets" and the subweb is "more about widgets", one topical listing is what you can expect. If the main web is about vaccuum cleaners and the subweb is about Mount Everest, attempting to get two listings is perfectly sensible and possible.
