Advice requested from ODP editors

Making an inquiry to ODP

I have a client whose site listing at ODP was recently deleted. Since the sole editor of this category is a local business competitor of hers, she suspects this was done intentionally. Does anyone know the protocol for her to follow up with ODP about this? Thanks

Send an email to the editor of the category about the one in question. Explain your concerns, but don't accuse.

My client has already tried this route just as you suggested, but the very nature of his reply predicated the reaon for my posting here to find out if there is any additional recourse beyond the editor. I didn't want to get into the details of what has transpired simply because I would be concerned it might be perceived as an ODP editor/policy bashing thread which is not my intent at all. If you are interested in details, I'll be happy to provide the information via email for your review and advice. Thanks.

After you have contacted the editor of that category, start working your way up the food chain. Find the editor in the category above the one you submitted to and send them an email explaining the situation. If you hear nothing from them, try the next category up. Wait about 2-3 weeks between sending emails. Eventually you will find someone who will help you. As always, pe patient and courteous to the editors. Rude emails will almost always be ignored.
