Does Google count Looksmart links

I have a listing in Looksmart but it never seems to be picked up by Google.

I don't think they count in Google. I have multiple pages from a couple of different sites with listings in Looksmart, and I've never seen a Looksmart backlink show up in Google or any other search engine for any of the Looksmart entries.

I've also checked competing sites that I know are in Looksmart, and so far I've never found a LS directory listing show up in their backlinks, either.

Strange that.

I looked up a site I have in L$, the Directory page has a PR6 that the site is on. But there is no mention of the link in the Google link search.

Anyone else have a thought on L$ links in Google?

I've never seen any in backlinks, but I once saw a link to a set of MSN SERPS (may have been Ink results though).

Like most things on the web, it is usually the simplest solution that is the correct solution. ;)

Not that Google would really want to spider the L$ database anyway!
