Does anyone have any idea about what's going on with AOL? The last two updates have been crazy! The data is definitely not purely from DMOZ... there are sites that are listed 2 or 3 times in a row..Some sites are clearly very old...
Wait a minute...this starting happening when AOL partnered with GoTo...Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree but...could AOL be messing up the results purposely so that people will rely on GoTo? That was my first thought when I saw the results and noticed that all of our sites had dissappeared..."I better buy my keywords at GoTo right away!"...especially now for the Xmas season..

Any thoughts anyone?

It's difficult to imagine that AOL would do such a thing. I don't think that there would be financial motivation for them to do so.

[webmasterworld.com...] has a lively discussion about just that question. :)

You're probably right Laisha...just conjecturing.

Given your connection with DMOZ, do you know why they're not drawing their results solely from DMOZ's database as they used to?

Sorry for starting a new thread on this, but it's been a month since AOL has been showing strange results and nobody seems to know much about this, so I figured I'd start a new thread. AOL is a significant source referrals for us (or used to be, until we got dropped this weekend) so I was hoping to gather some information here.

Thanks!
