Is PR 6 category better than PR 3 category?

Is PR 6 category with 290 links better than PR 3 category with 8 links

I am able to chose between a yahoo category with PR 6 which has 290 links on it or to take the PR 3 category with only 8 links on it.

To my understanding from the first category I get 1/290 from the PR 6 at Google and from the other I would get 1/8 of the PR 3.

Which one will help more with Google?

Cat with PR3 would may better. In addition PR3 can improve rather easily.

No one can know for sure but my calculations lead me to believe that the PR you will receive will be very, very similar in both cats.

You should make your decision on other factors i.e.

Which cat do you think will generate more traffic from the yahoo directory

which cat is the more specific to your site

Does one of the cats have your keyword in it's description? if so I would go for that one.

The PR3 site may well increase to a PR4 or PR5.
