DMOZ says that travel sites may have two listings, one by region and one by subject. I am listed in the regional structure, but am curious about getting into the subject category too. Without offending the editor who, of course, is my.... , anyway;
When I dig down through the subject route, I eventually need to tag the subject with a location (since it is a travel site). This puts me into the regional structure again. If I submit from here is it a duplication of my original submission via regions?
E.g. hiking tours, scuba diving, downhilling skiing, whale watching tours, bed & breakfast accommodations, family dining, etc.
Click on the sub-topical directories that appear, and view other listings within that category.
If these listings seem to be quite similar to you (your site) it is a good bet that you fit that category.

(or the appropriate subcat) in addition to regional.
If you had a ski hotel, say, and it is listed under "Regional", then you cannot add the same hotel under "Recreation/Travel/.." as those listing are just linked by the "&" sign to the same regional listing.
DMOZ will therefore not list you under both, as it is in fact the same category.
Also thanks to Cornwall. Yes, that is exactly what was getting me mixed up originally. The trail of sub-cats kept leading me back into regional headings. But skibum's suggested category stops before the "&", so it should work.
