Problems in applying at DMOZ

Hello, long time lurker finally with enough nerve to ask a question.

I filled out the application at dmoz to become an editor. I chose a very small category that is a city that I live in. It does already have one editor.

To make a long story short, I spent a couple hours perfecting my app. and when I finally was ready to submit, it timed out. On the refresh, the application was blank. I'm on a T1 on my end by myself, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't my connection.

Is there any way I can find out if the application went through?

Time outs are frustrating...

You should get an email asking you to confirm the email you gave on the app.

If you havn't got it, it didin't go through... Next time, put all your answers in a text file first ;)

BTW, so now you're outta the dark how's it feel? ;)

Just keep trying.

For more assured results, I would apply to a small cat that has not editor. A cat that's way down at the bottom. They seem to like for newbies to start at the bottom, then take ownership higher up the chain.

I've been trying to crawl out of the basement for months, with no luck. Will try again next year.

"so now you're outta the dark how's it feel?"

Pretty good. :)

I gotta say that was the quickest set of responses ever! Thanks alot.

One last question?...

When is Ed Macmahon gonna stop by my house? That would be so much easier than playing the SEO game...

I hate to keep this one going, but I just tried several times again and it keeps timing out. So it won't accept submissions. Appears to be a bug for the meta-editors that are reading this.

I'll wait and try tomorrow.

Midwest,

I am really happy you are spending so much time on your application. I've heard it said that you should treat it as a 'job application', because it is.

I tried it in Mozilla....and it worked. :)

Thank god there's a good alternative to IE.
