Who or what does Zeal feed and what impact does it have in the grand scheme of things out there?

Looksmart and Zeal are the same directory - if it uses Looksmart, it uses Zeal.

The most notable traffic impact comes from MSN, but there are literally thousands of sites out there that use the L$ directory. These directories provide as much traffic to my site as all search engines combined if you take out Google and MSN from the mix.

Zeal is Looksmart's directory database of non-commercial sites. It is then combined with the paid listings of Looksmart to form the complete database.

Because it is still used by MSN, it still for me remains relevant for non-commercial sites. But not relevant enough that I'm going to spend more than $50 a year to join it.

I paid INK (via Positiontech) $49, in order to show up in MSN serps.

Anybody know what LS is charging this month?

Doesn't cost $50 to join Zeal - its free.

LS is charging 15 cents/click plus some submission fees.
