I have just noticed that my free listing in the Looksmart directory is no longer included, although I know for sure it was there a couple of days ago. The site was listed in the directory before you had to pay to get in and has been there ever since. I wonder if this is just a one-off or if they are now removing all the old non-paid listings from the directory.

Put your URL in your profile (or sticky me) and I'll see if I can find out what happened to it. (Tell me what category it was in, too, if you can remember).

Hi Grumpus and thank you!

I've added the URL to my profile - I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was listed in Arts & Culture.

Zealbot tried to access your site and it was down. If it tries a few times and it's still down, it'll unpublish it. Since it was a paid inlcusion, I don't have the power to edit it, but I did trigger the "Site is Responsive" tag on it, so hopefully within the next day, the bot'll be back and fix itself. If not, you'll have to contact Looksmart. If you still have trouble, sticky mail me and I'll contact that LS person for that category. It SHOULD be back up in a day or so, though.

Grumpus

It's really good of you to have gone to all that trouble. As it happens, it didn't occur to me that the site was being spidered by them on a regular basis, but since you mention it, of course it makes sense and my site was down for about three days a couple of weeks ago. You say it is a paid listing, but I assume this was accidental, since as far as I know, this has always been a free listing.

In any event, I am very pleased, thank so much!

It might not be a paid listing, but it is in the directory from looksmart itself, not in there from a Zeal editor. It's also listed in a commercial category, so there's really nothing a Zeal editor can do except send a note off to the Looksmart editor in charge of that cat (which appears to actually be about three or four levels above you). Lemme know if it comes back. If it's not back in a day or so, I'll find out who's the closest editor and have 'em manually get you back in.

That's great thank you Grumpus - I'll keep a check on it and sticky mail you as soon as it's back in the directory.

Another explanation, if your URL was an Express listing at one time, is that each former-Express listing is removed from the directory each month after it generates 100 clicks. If this is the case, it would cause your site to move in and out of the directory on a monthly basis.
