Error log problem

Hello,
I have 2 databases and a frequent error log is being generated for both. The site visitors dont see any error but the log looks something like this:

[18-Feb-2014 19:32:25 America/Denver] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: do in /xxx/xxxx/public_html/reviews/main.php on line 146
[18-Feb-2014 19:32:25 America/Denver] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: w in /xxx/xxxx/public_html/reviews/main.php on line 225
[18-Feb-2014 19:32:25 America/Denver] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: start in /xxx/xxxx/public_html/reviews/main.php on line 242

These errors occur much more frequent now when I change hosts. The host denies it has anything to do with them. But before I switched I hardly ever had something in my error log. Any idea what might be wrong?

what version of PHP are you running now and what were you running on the previous host?

They're not errors, really, just information. Every now and then I have to clean the same kind of thing out of my MAMP logs. (Live site doesn't have php logs-- or if they do, they are extremely well concealed.) "Yes, of course it isn't defined, the whole point of the function was to check whether it has been defined!"

The new host may be using a different logging level, or a fractionally different php version, or both.

PHP Version is 5.4.24.

Even though they are not errors, the last couple of days has become very overwhelming cleaning them all the time. Usually I get this once in a while but now it is all the time.

Any idea how I can fix that would be appreciated.

probably this...

http://us3.php.net/function.error-reporting.php [us3.php.net]:
5.4.0 E_STRICT became part of E_ALL.

you might be able to set another reporting level in your PHP Runtime Configuration:
http://us3.php.net/manual/en/errorfunc.configuration.php#ini.error-reporting

Thanks a lot! What would be a recommending level? I dont want to block all errors but I want to get rid of unnecessary notices.
