Alternative to MySQL Enterprise

Hi all,

Does anyone knows a cheaper (or free to use) alternative to MySQL Enterprise software?

It could be few products working together to give the same statistical data.

I’m especially interested in Query Optimization module of MySQL Enterprise and was thinking maybe someone found a decent alternative for that.

"Cheap/Free" and "Enterprise" are words which normally don't go together in one sentence :) The only free alternative which might offer what you want is PostgreSQL. I have deployed it a few times and it has quite some nice features, but I don't know if it has a decent query optimizer.

MySQL Enterprise isn’t database, it’s a high level monitoring tools, which is insanely expensive.

I want to find a set of tools or a good alternative to monitor MySQL databases.

I’m especially interested in Query Optimization module of MySQL Enterprise monitoring software.

Any pointers? :-)
