Installed mysql on Mac, but it was already preinstalled

Hi,

hehe, ok so I installed mysql on my iMac that i just bought, and it turns out it already had it installed.

When I run:
/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql I get an error:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

When I look into the folder /usr/local/

I see only 2 folders: mysql and mysql-5.0.51b-osx10.4-1686

I know one of them is just a symbollilic link.

Question is, where is the other installation?
