Hi Guys

Two questions.

Will field size default to the maximum available if the field size entry is left blank?

Would it be OK to set all field sizes within the database to the maximum they can be and control the field size within the website form?

I would not suggest setting them all to the maximum. I'm not sure about Access. I would set them up to be whatever size you see them being for the forseeable future.

Field size will default to the maximum size, unless you specifically set it otherwise. You can see Microsoft Access field size specifications by looking at Microsoft Access Database Specifications and Limitations [databasedev.co.uk]

I think you should set the field sizes to what you want to restrict them to, and then also set the appropriate measures in the web form too.
