mysql sytax error.Help please

I am getting this error message when people try to purchase stuff from my store at the end on the thanks page. The information is not coming through. <snip>

you have the following illegal syntax in your SQL query:
id %orderid% from %orderdate% has been updated from %oldstatus% to %newstatus% o

it looks like your query contains a status message rather than a query...
