Hello everybody... might be silly this question but I absolutely need your help...

What's the difference between a File-based and a Database Information System... there are any advantages or disadvantages that can be described?

One represents data as files the other tables and tuples. Each has many strengths/eweaknesses depending on the application.

Thats a huge question, can you tell us why you "absolutely need your help" to help us provide usefull information cause otherwise it just sounds like an essay question to me :)

I'm working on a project... anyway I got the idea..
A file based system is like when you use to store your data into an excel file for example,
a database is an application which work on itself
is that correct?
