Can someone quickly give me some thoughts about stopping an in-progress index on a SQL 2000 table? We have an index that usually takes a couple of hours to run, but things have come up where we absolutely need to stop it. Will this corrupt data? Are there any adverse affects of just stopping the service and restarting? I'm kind of in a bind right now, and need any info that can quickly be provided.
