i was told by my host that my site is using up too much of the shared hosting's cpu and ram to be running my site on it and recommended me to use a dedicated or semi dedicated solution with a different host.

whenever i check my phpinfo, my server load adverages between 0.40 and 0.80 and this is what's on it this very second:
Server Up Time: 16:00:42 up 8 days, 8:10, 1 user, load average: 0.75, 0.93, 0.79

i recently put a page cache on my site to cut the database queries in half, is there anything else i can do?

One thing is to try mytop and enable the slow query log (can find info on both just by searching) so that you can identify any slow queries and optimize them. Those server load values are completely reasonable, but in the end if that host doesn't like it that your site is dynamic and active you will probably have to move. I'd say make an action plan now to move to a dedicated or virtual dedicated server, or at least to another shard host who is 'dynamic site' friendly.
