Select record in PHP Echo tag?

Hi,

I would like to specify a reccordnumber from a recordset in a <?Php echo .... tag is this possible in any way?

I have a translation table in my database and I can define recordsets OK, but I end up with multiple recordsets per PHP page.... this seems to slow things down.

Any ideas?
