Anybody else getting these?

I have now seen a new group of link spammers registering on my forum just to get a link boost. Most of them are promoting sites from the *.info top level domain. Anybody else getting these?

Might just be a function of what domain is currently priced the cheapest and .info has set some records in that department, including a free year registration offer not so long ago.

There might be some people who took advantage of the free year to register and "age" (anti-sandbox) some domain names that are now looking to exploit that fact. Don't know. Just speculation.

WebWork,

That makes sense and was something I was wondering about. Makes it easier to filter them at least.

Blocking .info domains and .ru email addresses when registering seems like it would cut out 90% of SPAM...
