registration problems, 3 simultaneous ISP #s

I have been trying to get a member on to my forum, but with no luck, even though she has been registered with no problems and can log on; I have a vBulletin forum, and have it set so that visitors can only read the subject line of a thread, but not the posts, and registered members who are logged in, can read the posts and post their own messages. That is where she gets stuck: when she clicks on the subject line, she gets a message that says she is not authorized to view the page. I do not understand that,as I have no "authority" required to post beyond being a logged-in member, which she is.

I checked my admin panel, and everything looked fine, but this is what is puzzling me:
When she was on the site trying to post, I noticed that she has 3 ISP numbers simultaneously. I have never seen this before and would appreciate someone explaining how anyone can use three ISP#s at one time if they are only one user.

I know nothing about "aol", but the ISP numbers, instead of showing that they belonged to "username", had this listed as the source:

cache-dtc-abo3,proxy.aol.com

and

cache-dtc-af01.proxy.aol.com

and

cache-dtc-ae03.proxy.aol.com

Can someone please tell me how to deal with this?

You see this user is using a dynamically assigned IP to access your site, everytime he/she goes online a new IP is dynamically assigned to his/her PC.

This is America Online's caching proxy system. The user connect to your site through AOL caching proxies, and has no choice about it.

I'd recommend that you check out the vBulletin FAQs and help section, or vBulletin-related support forums, and find out how to support AOL users.

Look at the user in the admin control panel - it could be she hasn't done the email confirmation part. If you find her status is "awaiting email confirmation" you can change her to "registered user" if you are confident she is legit.

The multiple IP addresses won't have any effect on viewing threads.
