I've had it with PHPBB and am thinking of going over to Invision. What has been your experience doing the switch? Anything I should know about?

I'm unable to help you, but am currently looking at assisting someone with doing the same thing... only problem is that both are are hosting with "free forum" sites. Two different ones too. Is it even possible to make a switch without starting over?

Just curious, why are you switching?

As far as I can see the two main issues with phpBB are that:

1) It's not all that fast when you're dealing with a sizeable forum.

2) The continuous flow of security updates and the monumental pain it is to update heavily modded forums.

I find that as annoying as those updates are, they keep me on my toes php-wise and give me a greater appreciation (at a code level) of php security concerns in general. If you're not too interested in php coding then I can see the frustration and they do do a pretty good job of eating into your Saturday afternoons ...
