Puting an overall last topics page

How can it change a board?

Our board have a lot of forums and subforums, and with 2K posts a day it is already hard to follow, for addicted members, and also for mods.

Puting a simple page where last topics from all our forums appear in topic creation date reverse chronological order can first be seen as a good fix.
That allows everybody to monitor and don't miss a thing, ans can increase overall posting.

Sure that would ease members that go a little bit everywhere.

But won't it affect our focused traffic? Any experience? I don't see a lot of forums doing it, so there may be a good reason.

Yes hacks are available for phpBB and vB.
Very easy to install.

VBulletin lists the threads most recently posted to in reverse chronological order (rather like the "recent posts" feature here). That's really handy in a big forum with many subforums - a member or mod can easily look at the most recent activity.

If I understand the objective, goldminer, it's to list the most recent threads ordered by thread creation date? I can see where that would be useful, too.

Thank you for the answers, and, well, sorry for my terrible written expression. :)

I just wondered in which proportions such an overall last topics page will generate flood on my board.
It is a stupid fear i guess!
Can offering users easier ways to browse your board be a bad thing?

I should also put a recent posts feature, like in WebmasterWorld.
Or the rolls royce : these 2 features, with an addon that allows each user to select which forums he want to be listed in.

We'll do it and see, as usual ;-)
