Is there no UK authority who we can report this activity to? If we were a bricks and mortar business and someone was causing this sort of problem we could get a restraining order or something surely. It doesn't seem fair that because it's on the web people can do what they like.
I wanted to report him to his ISP, but they make it next to impossible to do that.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
If you are etermined then aseekign advice from a lawyer would be a wise move.
Mack.
In fact, it's worked so well that I require admin approval permanently. When i get a request, I look for area, email address, ip, etc. to try to determine whether it's a competitor of ours looking to spam our forum, or a legit person.
sure, this only works until he cleans out his cookies, but its usually not something they expect so that wouldn't immediately occur to them
Also you can ban the whole C Class IP (which might cause some problem to some other members).
If you can tell me what is he trying to do then I can suggest some spam filters. I have started banning some people on the basis of the their promotional styles(particularly when they posts URLs).
