hi been reading here a lot since i joined here. But i cant seem to find a nice post about on how to optimize a phbb forum. I found this link
[webmasterworld.com...] but im wondering if this is still up to date cause atm phpbb uses 2.0.6 and this link is talking about optimzation for version 2.0.4 and got posted a year ago.Wht im actually looking for is someone that can tell me if it will be necesarry to past the code into the current version or if there is another easy way around to optimize a phpbb forum.Well looking forward for any of of you replies. :)

You'd maybe do better to visit phpBB's homepage [phpbb.com], and check out the forums there....

If you upgrade to version 2.0.8, it is very spider-friendly, without having to make any major modifications. Otherwise, the phpbb support site has a lot of very specific information on this topic.

Does 2.0.8 deal with spiders in the session? I just copy my modified sessions.php file over :P i never looked to see if the new v. was spider friendly.

phpBB 2.0.8 is still not enough spider friendly. I have a forum (for portuguese users), and the index is PR5, but all forums/channels are PR0 (and Iīm not talking about threads).
Iīm thinking of modding it, removing session Idīs, etc, but I donīt have time to do that, at least for now.

removing session Idīs,

That's your problem - since bots don't go session-anything! ;)
