I'm still on 0.12 but have patched up until 14, are there any major issues with this new release that we should be aware of?

Getting tired of doing the painstaking full upgrade every fortnight when phpBB bring out another version.

Yes you absolutely need to update to 2.0.15. You can use the patch file or the instructions in the mod, and don't forget to upload the install/ directory and run the update script as well (otherwise you will have problems). There is a serious (if very obscure) security issue fixed in 2.0.15, and it also adds an extra authentication layer for the admin control panel backported from the future version 3.0.

My only complaint is that the phpBB team seem to enjoy putting out vital updates on a Friday night, forcing us to work weekends patching our boards!

Thats true the last update to .13 to .14 was done on a saturday if I remember.

Okay, this has probably been said before, but darn, it's a pain to have to munge these update to work with Nuke... Anyone else noticed that the nuke versions of these patches seem to lag WAAAY behind?

Nope, Well i dont.

I like changing the files manually - You learn a little more each time, get to you your board a little better and you get a some experience with all this kind of stuff!

Is it just me that thinks that then?

You go file through file searching for the lines of code which were changed?....

My forum has lots of mods so the only way to update the forum without going through all the mods again is to use the patch files....but I donīt know how to use them....

Anyway I've allready updated the forum and modded it again....but I'd like to know how to patch it so that I don't have to go through all the work on the next "probably soon to come" update...

I download the updated patched files and read the 'README.txt' file.

Copy and paste the code into a search and then copy in the updated version.

After you get to the bottom, upload all the files. There may be more to do so always read the readme file.

Does that help or am I way off the mark?

Jose: When an update comes out, you can download the patch file. Then read the install or readme document included with the download. That will tell you how to walk through the patch.

Basically, what you'll need to do is copy and paste some code into one of your files. The install document will tell you which file to open, which line to look for the old code on, then what exactly to replace.

Just make sure you backup your files before you update them, just in case.
