I would like to create a series of websites with similar layouts and content, something like mytown.mystate.com where the admin for the "mystate" level would have access to all subdomains and the moderators at the "mytown" level would have control of features at their level.

Is there an existing PHP solution (I are not no coder) that would dynamically handle this scenario? Or can you suggest something else?

Your help and advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirk

Kirk, I haven't seen any out-of-the-box scripts that would do what you are looking for. You might be able to simulate that effect with rewriting URLs and using software that offers granular editing or administration privileges, e.g., content management, blog, or forum software. For example, content at example.com/florida/miami/ would be viewed by users at miami.example.com or miami.florida.example.com.

Creating a subdomain structure as complex as what you propose might create issues of its own.

Roger,

I'm not too strong with .htaccess, do you think a visitor could navigate to the folder using the subdomin structure of the url?
