Have i got it wrong

i have created an article that i want to post, i signed up with digg and was unable to post it, it asked for a url and when i entered the url i was talking about it did not recognize it.
Now im on technorati, where do you post your articel it like a maze?

If you have a blog, you can ping Technorati manually by following the "ping us" link in their footer.

In general, it's better to set your posts to ping automatically on posting - your blog software probably comes preset with pingomatic or other ping update sites.

Not sure what the problem was with Digg. If you are logged in you can submit a URL, and then it should bring up a form page where you can supply a description, category, etc. and complete a CAPTCHA verification. It may also suggest other articles that look like duplicates, which you can safely ignore if you wrote the new content yourself and nobody has dugg it yet.

im clearing doing it wrong, i have updated a new part of my website that i want to push out there. I had the idea that i could submit an article to the like of technorati and digg and a few others. It seems as if i have got the wrong idea can someone give me some step by step advice as to how to get this done.

i have just created a blog thinging with google can i now post these to various sites?
