Forum pings

Services like technorati but for forums?

I think it'd be great if I could ping technorati or another service everytime there's a new post on my forum.

Are there any sites out there that allow you to do this? I suppose you could ping technorati...but I assume it isn't exactly what they're looking for since it wouldn't be a blog.

Just a thought..Thinking of ways to increase traffic!

For some forums you can create an RSS feed which you can then pass to blog aggregators and news sites. I've done this with a phpBB forum.

The danger is that because you have little control over the quality of the posts you may alienate potential visitors. But the facility can be useful for anyone interested in the subject of your forum who also uses an aggregation service as it may make tracking your forum easier.
