Hi,

I've been using phpBB2 for several of my sites, and I cannot keep the spam off of them. They are not terribly active, which I suspect might be the problem. I have even set the settings to "registered only" for posting, yet I'm still getting spam.

I would just as soon use a new php bulletin board, even if I have to pay for it. What I want is for it to be customizable in looks, use php 4.3 and MySQL, and keep the spam out!

Anyone know of anything? Thanks so much.

We installed the Anti Bot Question Mod and it stops all our spam postings. You make up your own questions and answers.

I've found vBulletin to be effective in keeping spam bots out. Human spam is tough to prevent.

You could always go with a custom solution. If it is made from scratch, it would be harder to crack. Nothing is 100% though.

Do you have a captcha? That could do the trick.
