The name of this forum is "Commercial Exchange", and that's exactly what I'm looking for -- to exchange commercial insights, cooperatively develop commercial services and systems, and to work (commercially) with other webmasters who own and operate a website where the content and focus is specific to one city or town.

While several large corporations have tried or are trying to "do local" -- most of the time they fail because of top down management style and the need to funnels profits out of the local community and support the parent corporation and high paid execs.

I am seeking out others who would like to work together and build a network of local owner/operator community websites.

The commercial exchange aspect would come in the form of sharing platform development, accommodating larger regional or national advertisers, and giving the local sites' users an easy way to navigate to other city/town websites and be able to instantly find the info they're looking for based on common navigational aspects of all sites in the network.

If you enjoy creating and publishing local news, calendar event listings, promoting local business and organizations, and have been finding it difficult to manage platform software and monetize the site while trying to keep up with content creation -- I believe by working together a group of like-minded webmasters (and developers) can deploy better as a network of "Davids" that can not only compete, but beat the "Goliaths" that are trying to take over "local".

Sound interesting?

Own and operate a local community website?

Sticky me with the URL of your town/city website, (I'll reply with the address of mine), and we can take it from there.
