I would like to display a sort of disclaimer page to all users before they view a content page, and don't really want to show it to Google or Yahoo, so can I just allow a bypass for the gbot and slurp, or will I be penalized?

ncreegan, you could be banned. Guys who work with adult sites have plenty problem with disclaimers. Make your disclaimer by javascript. Everything will be fine.

How do you mean by javascript? An alert or something more complex?

ncreegan, depends on your level with javascripts. Anything what you may afford. The main point is pretty simple. SE's crawler does not run javascript. Release you imagination.
