Pacsoft to go into the internet search advertising business

Wednesday, 06 July 2005

The directors of Pacsoft Limited (ASX:PAC) have reached an agreement to acquire internet search advertising software company Mooter Pty Limited.

The Mooter technology, for which a US Patent has been filed, is designed to deliver the most relevant advertisement to the end user, using proprietary matching technologies to incorporate page content, demographic information, cognitive responses and behavioural patterns.

Another key quote from that article:
A major advantage claimed of Mooter technology is that it is double-byte enabled so it can support Asian languages, including Japanese, Chinese and Korean, the growth markets that Mooter intends to penetrate.

Mooter CEO John Diddams has assembled a highly experienced management team to run the company including COO Dr Matt McDougall (previously TIBCO ), CFO Paul Siminsky (LookSmart and J&J), CIO Mark Hetherington (Unisys) and CTO Jax Gibb (HP & Lucent). This team is supported by software engineers in Sydney and Tokyo and local support staff.
