I have several English language sites with Adsense running on them. I was wondering if there would be any problem using the same account to put my code on a Japanese website that I have.

No it is not a problem. I have Adsense running on multiple English and Japanese sites. The only thing you need to watch out for is to make sure you have the language defined as JA in the header or you may only get English ads. It happened to me once.
