Top Japanese Internet portal Yahoo Japan Corp. became the latest technology company to declare it will pay a dividend on Thursday, saying it will distribute 10 percent of its net income this business year.

They're paying out a bit sooner than I thought they would. I'm sure their investors are pleased. ;)

SoftBank was a real angel investor and played a major role in getting the Internet investment going in Japan. When the bubble burst they were hit hard, but they fell back to their flagship Yahoo investment and really dug in. To their credit Yahoo Japan is really a well respected brand in Japan now. They're not just an Internet portal, but a an up-and-coming communications company. Very soon we'll have Yahoo cell phones to go with our gigabit internet [webmasterworld.com] connections. Keep up the good work Yahoo Japan.
