Rediff will be shortly announcing pay4click engine. Some of the features are :-

1) You can target cities geographically in India (currently) and in US (future).

2) No website needed. You can directly get SMS alerts on your mobile (of leads).

3) Rs 5 flat rate. Initial signup charge of Rs 100 (which gets credited into your account and will get you 20 clicks).

4) Ad copy creation is pretty similar to Adwords.

5) No conversion tracking available currently.

6) No bidding on keywords. Its basically ads displayed on rediff content network. You can select which categories your ads should be displayed.

7) You can use precision target tools, which will enable you to target visitors on the basis on Age, sex etc (which most probably will be picked up from their registered user base of 30 million).

The engine basically is targetting offline people who are non techno savvy.

Its an interesting development to say the least ;)

Mod note: We've had this thread on-hold pendng an official announcement from Rediff, many thanks to mil2k for being so understanding and patient.

No announcement as yet, but as the system seems to be live, perhaps it is time to let this one out of the bag.

They were working on it over a year ago when I met with their CEO in Mumbai (and then mil2k some days later). They were building something for their own needs and this is a logical extension of it.

I put in Rs. 100 a couple of weeks back. The stats so far -

34,500 impressions, 7 clicks, 0.02% CTR, Avg CPC Rs. 5.00

I still Rs. 65 in my account. If I get one lead from Rediff, everybody in this thread gets a free Bhel Puri from my side.

Vibgyor79,

I relish the thought of a bhel puri, but I can't see it working for b2b as well as it can for b2c. If you were selling ringtones or FMCG (fast moving consumer goods), you would have more luck.

Added: Having seen their last quarterly results, it seems their shareholders will be pleased.
