First reported in a Yonhap News article [yonhapnews.net], the first official portal of the North Korean country/government was first noticed "when the July issue of "Korea," a monthly photo journal issued by a sub-organization of the North Korean Workers' Party, carried an advertisement."

Still in it's infancy and will a fair dose of 404's the portal is intended to carry news and commerce, along with the obligatory Nationalistic Music with each page.

A further report [smh.com.au] by the Sydney Morning Herald states that the site is run on a German server, and comments on the reported "14,000 visitors a day" statistic.

There is a lot of work needed on the site, but at least it is a start.

A little light on the English content side. I hope the Korean side is better. ;) I've seen this blogged in a few places so I'll bet that's where a lot of the traffic is coming from. There must be a stream of traffic from curious South Korean visitors as well. The music does tend to get stale pretty fast.
