Flash Array in Chinese

Hi
Does any one know how to display chinese characters in flash?
I can copy and paste unicode into text boxes no problem but some of my text boxes are in an array like:
offerArray = new Array("technology", "Communications planning");
when i paste unicode and publish it, the chinese characters seem to disappear. Any clues...
