Traffic from Yahoo.Japan has recently doubled.

Anyone else notice anything?

In last three days my traffic from Yahoo Japan doubled. However the amount of traffic I am getting is to small to draw any valid conclusions.
Has anyone noticed any changes?
I noticed that traffic from yahoo comes two different referring urls:
yahoo.co.jp/bin/search
yahoo.co.jp/bin/query
Can anyone explain that?
On oter threads people are reporting that Yahoo.com is slowly switching towards Inktomi.
Can the two url and traffic change be explained by this switch?

Yahoo Japan is still using google results to compliment its directory. Have you recently been added to the directory or improved your google rankings?

I haven't heard anything about Yahoo Japan switching to inktomi- From what I understand, Yahoo USA and Yahoo Japan are seperate entities with different strategic plans, although they do share technologies and brands. If the switch to inkotomi in the US generates additional revenue, or can reduce their expenses without a decrease in quality, I would expect Yahoo Japan to follow.

Looking at traffic over the past few days I don't see anything dramatic from Yahoo. I would tend toward David_Ms querys...maybe a directory listing was promoted? They still mean something here...

I haven't seen the Inktomi switch on Yahoo Japan. But I think it will be a sad day when it comes...to some extent, the SERPs are not very good...in Japanese. Goo has been struggling for years as the solitary commercial Inktomi rep in Japan...and thier performance hasn't been stellar...why do you think they're abandoning Ink for Google?

Yahoo Japan will eventually follow in the footsteps of Yahoo USA...it may take a while, but it will happen.

Can anyone explain that double referring page -yahoo.co.jp/search and Yahoo.co.jp/query. The increase in referrals from yahoo.co.jp/search page accounts for increase in my traffic. That really looks to me like there are two sources of search results- however I cannot prove it.

I think search.yahoo.co.jp/bin/query?p= pages are ones which there are only google results, while search.yahoo.co.jp/bin/search?p= pages are ones in which there is a directory hit. However, it may still be the google results giving you the traffic since google results appear below the directory listings.

Lukasz, do you have a directory listing? This could be causing the traffic increase. Or it could be that someone else now has a directory listing that is showing first, then you're below them in the google results.

I dont have the directory listing.
However my Google PR increased from 2 to 4 just 3 days ago and this can be the reason for increased traffic.
