China plans to launch a network that it says will detect an attack on it very quickly. Some are suggesting it'll be an unhackable network. I'm not convinced that's the correct terminology. Also, why does a claim such as that suggest to me it's showing a red rag to a bull!

However, the interesting part, for me, is the suggestion about the encryption becoming out-of-date and the use of quantum computing and encryption keys sent via separate message looks interesting.

The technology it has turned to is quantum cryptography, a radical break from the traditional encryption methods around. The Chinese project in the city of Jinan has been touted as a milestone by state media. China Claims it's Launching an "Unhackable" Network [bbc.co.uk]

If anyone ever figures out how to easily factor prime numbers quickly then most of today's crypto will fall. Fortunately it takes today's technology a really long time to factor out a really large number that you get when multiplying two primes. That's why you can provide a public key and be relatively secure. Quantum machines will make that factorization process easier, but it won't solve things. There is already quantum resistant crypto.

The interesting part is that if the Chinese become the leaders in supplying this sort of crypto they'll have a lot of customers. And who's to say they can't sneak in a back door of some sort...
