Tokyo court orders Google to remove search results on man

Some of the search results “infringe personal rights,” Judge Nobuyuki Seki said in the document. “Google, which manages the (Google) search engine, has the obligation to delete them.”

It is likely the first legal decision in Japan ordering the operator of a search engine to remove search results, according to the man’s lawyer.

Google Agreed To Remove 122 Items By Court Order

Asahi reported that Google Japan answered them that they would remove the items ordered by Tokyo District Court. Complainer’s agent confirmed that most of the items are not showing up on Google Search results.
