Alibaba criticises Yahoo For 'Reckless' China Stance [news.bbc.co.uk]
Yahoo's partner in China has called the US internet giant "reckless" for supporting Google in its stand-off with Beijing over alleged cyber-attacks.

Yahoo said it was "aligned" with Google's position that the violation of internet privacy was deeply disturbing and something that had to be opposed.

But an Alibaba Group spokesman said on Saturday it did not "share this view".

This is curious. Yahoo China were the ones who were accused of handing e-mail accounts of dissidents over to the Chinese government [webmasterworld.com] not so long ago.

Bill I had been biting my tongue to say that, glad you did it for me.

I think Yahoo! want to be seen as the good guy in this, especialy after the response following the incident you mentioned. Public opinion was very much against them when reportedly allowed access to email accounts.
