I have been looking at some of the trends of the search engines and directories lately. It is a little difficult to pick the trend on a month to month basis and combined with changes in search engine methods. Just to make it more difficult to see the trends of course we had some content and continue to try to improve the web site.

The one thing that seems to be clear is the improvement in the traffic from MSN Japan. This is something I have spoken about before, but with a further 40-50% increase in the traffic in April it is hard to ignore.

(If someone tells me how to put a table in here without it stuffing up I will put it in, otherwise sticky me)

We have a Looksmart listing, that does not seem to do much. We have a Yahoo.co.jp listing and we have a DMOZ listing as of April. It was recognised by Google, but appears to have no impact at all! Indeed for the keyphrase Australia (in Japanese) we went backwards and the listing is in Australian section. (Love to know the answer to this one)

Please don't tell me after all the effort and time the DMOZ was a waste of time.

If you are talking about the site in your profile, then you can expect an increase in PR when the new link in the Google Directory is also used to calculate the PR of your homepage. This takes some extra time (see also msg6 in How long does it take for DMOZ to impact on G? [webmasterworld.com])

whats_up_skip,
Does this include adwords/overture referrels and sites which are fed via google? (ie biglobe)

Might be interesting to see a split analysis from each feed.
