Are there any sources to find what keywords are searched for in arabic?

Wordtracker doesn't cover arabic and Google and Overture also don't seem to look at arabic as market for them.

Haven't looked into marketing in Arabic before myself, perhaps somebody else has some data on this?

There are huge numbers of Arabic speakers world wide...so perhaps there are at least keyword spies or something.

I don't have anything on that one either zgb999. What are the arabic words for "Search Spy" and "Search Voyeur"? That may help us track some down.

Most people in Arabic speaking countries search in English. Partly because they are normally very fluent in English, partly because they already know they aren't going to find what they are looking for by searching in Arabic. However, many like to use automatic translation tools once they find a site in English.
I do wish somebody invents a keyword tool in Arabic! :)

It is really astonishing that not even Google who has Arabic as language setting offers to target this market. Are there any Search Engines offering keyword targeting for the Arabic market?

for your information, 60% of arabic surfers search in arabic for locally web sites and 40% for in an international language (english, french, german...)

but for international web sites or themes, they are 98% who are searching in an international langage

Any idea how many Arabic surfers there are world wide?

i have no idea about arab surfer outside arab countries.

my estimations, there are about 7 milion arab surfers in arab countries.

there are 1,5 bilion persons on this world who speaks/read arabic (estimation of sakhr software company)

the population of arab coutries are mostly youth, that's why we predict a high exponentional grouth of the number of surfers.
